Niche Marketing
What is Niche Marketing?
Niche marketing is often confused with targeted marketing due to their similarities but they are in fact different forms of advertising. Niche marketing is more defined as opposed to other techniques. A niche market is often significantly smaller, however when a search is carried out, nine times out of ten, you can be found.
Identifying a niche market requires looking in to a market sector and finding something that smaller scopes of people require. Niche markets aren’t as main stream and aren’t often found unless specifically searched for. For example, ‘women’s clothing’ is a popular market and so it’s quite competitive. If you go further in to the sector, there are various sub markets such as ‘plus sized women’s clothing’.
Even though there aren’t as many people searching for ‘plus sized women’s clothing’, the people that do search for it, do so because they require it and so the conversion rate in niche markets is usually dramatically higher than in a broader market. Not only this, but due to the low competition, niche sectors are easier to target for both SEO and Internet marketing.
Why use Niche Marketing?
It is inevitable that with certain industries, niche marketing is required. Some businesses need to target smaller audiences simply because that is the audience in which their product or service is designed for. Successfully identifying and targeting your company niche can really help raise the brand awareness, drive more traffic and increase the annual turnover radically.
